Botho University Offers Online Teaching Methodologies to 2,500 Government Teachers!

On the 27th August 2020 Botho University had the privilege of presenting a contribution to the COVID-19 relief fund of P221,235.00 to aid in the battle against COVID-19. The funds were presented by Dr. Sheela Ram, Vice Chancellor and Mr. Golekanye Setume, Deputy Pro Vice Chancellor – Communications, in the presence of Assistant Minister for Presidential Affairs Governance and Public Administration Hon. Dumizweni Mthimkhulu, the Minister of Trade and Investment Hon. Peggy Serame and other delegates from various parastatals, public sector and the private sector.

During the handover, the Vice Chancellor made a commitment that the University will also provide training for 2500 teachers in Government schools across Botswana so that they may adapt to online teaching mode. These contributions were acknowledged by the Ambassador of the United States of America to Botswana, Mr. Craig Cloud who buttressed that the effort by BU to provide online teaching methodologies to teachers is a great effort towards mitigating the impact of the pandemic on teaching and learning.
