BU Botswana students partner with national blood bank to help boost numbers of blood donors

Two Botho University students Gobakwe Ramadi & Morongwa Trinity Machola studying Bsc in Health Information Management, partnered with National Blood Bank to help boost the number of blood donors that contribute to NBB.
Since the beginning of the lockdown on April 2, 2020 many voluntary donors have not been able to donate blood. This is mainly because of restriction in movements and transportation issues during the lockdown.
Through this initiative, interested people were able to donate blood even during lockdown and this exercise was coordinated by Gobakwe and Morongwa with the necessary information and transportation arrangements for the donors to make it easier for them to donate.

Gobakwe Ramadi is a continuous Deans Awards winner at Botho University and was selected to attend a 5 weeks academics SUSI (Study of U.S. Institutes) program at University of Washington by FIUTS (Foundation of International Understanding Through Students) earlier this year.
She was picked for this program after a competitive process of selection in BU and the US embassy.

The other student, Morongwa Trinity Machola, is the Vice President of Botho University Student Representative Council (SRC) and a Deans awards awardee as well.

Botho University is proud of Gobakwe Ramadi and Morongwa Trinity’s support to this noble cause.
