Switzerland Trip For Botho University Students

The aspect of exposure plays an important role in transforming an individual’s perspective in life. But while exposure of any kind is always valuable, it is overseas or international exposure that receives much respect!

In the work environment exposure abroad is ideal in spurring one’s career while also nurturing global leaders. It widens one’s view on how a particular job is approached and executed in addition to building confidence, among other benefits.

According to career guidance site www.robertwalters-usa.com a recent survey of US professionals shows, “55% of accountants consider working abroad either ‘essential’ or ‘extremely useful’ for their career development compared to 47% of sales and marketing professionals, 43% of compliance workers, 33% of bankers and 23% of lawyers….”

“The survey, distributed by Robert Walters, asked respondents a series of questions ranging from working practices to career motivation,” the site says.

Recently two Botho University students from Botswana, Resego Masedi and Senatla Gabobofane returned from a two-week trip to Switzerland where they represented the University on the 2019 Lucerne World Tourism Forum. No doubt the pair had the trip of their lives so far considering that they are still learners eager to explore and grasp certain work experience procedures and demands.

Sharing his experience, Senatla said “Leaving for Switzerland was one of the most exciting experiences of my life especially working at Radisson Blu Hotel, one of the best leading international Hotels. The experience gave me more confidence, appreciation and being able to see things from a better perspective. With all thanks to the support I got from, World Tourism Forum, Star Alliance, Radisson Blu, Botho University, Mr. Simon, all the lecturers, and friends. One has to always remember these four things; dream big, stay positive, work hard and enjoy the journey.”
